Clutch Problem

My savage is a 2001 with 14,000+ miles. (It's my main mode of trans) Recently, when I try to accelerate hard, the engine revs as if the clutch is slipping. It will engage fairly quickly and I'll start going faster. Is my clutch going? It engages fine from a standing start. Are there adjustments that can be made to the clutch or do I have to get something replaced?
